Frequently asked questions

Before you open a case.

Gather your team, choose your setup, and follow the evidence together.

How many detectives can play?

We recommend 1–4 detectives. Play solo or gather a group to read the documents, discuss the evidence, and decide what to ask next. Everyone can help solve the case while sharing a screen.

Can we play together with one purchase?

Yes, when you play together on one computer or tablet. Sign in with the account that owns the case and investigate as a group on that screen. One person can operate the game while everyone helps make the decisions.

How many screens do we need?

For 1–2 detectives, we recommend one screen. For 3–4, we recommend two screens so documents are easier for everyone to read while you discuss the case. This can be a second monitor connected to the same computer. If you use separate computers or tablets, the online co-op requirements below apply.

Can we play on separate devices?

Online co-op connects two detective accounts to the same investigation. Each person connecting on a separate device needs their own account with access to the case. Start a room and share its invitation link with your partner. A group of 3–4 can share those two screens, with one or two people at each.
